Monster Slash Piles To Be Burned, Freeing Up Space For More

According to Fire Chief Deke Willis, the monster slash piles currently residing at the Red River Waste Water Treatment Plant are scheduled to be burned next week by the Red River Fire Dept. According to Willis, if all goes well, the pile will be burned next week and the town will start accepting additional slash the following week.

Last month the town halted the acceptance of slash due to the overwhelming amount of debris it was receiving from the Dec 15th windstorm which decimated thousands of trees and created enormous amounts of limbs in need of disposal. This is good news to homeowners who have been working on their properties trying to get them cleaned up but had no where to dispose of all the debris.

As soon as slash disposal is once again available, it will be posted here and on our Facebook page: Facebook - REDRIVERNM.COM
