Red River NM Oktoberfest, It Just Keeps Getting Better

Oktoberfest in Red River, NM started over 20 years ago and consisted of a few vendors in the park, one brewery selling craft beer and a couple hundred visitors. Fast forward a couple decades and over 8,000 people are now coming through the gates enjoying over 30 vendors selling crafts along with multiple food booths and breweries. The event has actually expanded into the side street to accommodate the growth.

Oktoberfest has also increased from a two day weekend to an action packed 3 day event including a beard and mustache contest, German dancing, strongman event, German band, and even a DJ. The events within the event have been such a big success that there are talks to add even more in the coming years.

Oktoberfest is hosted by the Red River Chamber Of Commerce. The Chamber director along with the Oktoberfest committee begins planning in the early spring for the fall event. Committee members spend time reviewing past events to determine what worked, what didn’t, and how the event can be improved. Many ideas and thoughts are shared, some ideas are implemented, some are not, but by the second week in October, the final plan always comes together and everyone always has a great time.

If you would like more information about Oktoberfest or would like to apply be a vendor, feel free to contact the Red River Chamber Of Commerce
