Zeus, The Legend Lives On (kind of)

Zeus was a legend, Bear Hunter, Lion Hunter and all around Mountain Man who resided between Red River and Eagle Nest NM in an old ghost town by the name of Elizabethtown. I recall a conversation I overheard between him and the late Walter Dobbs.

Zeus - When I die, just throw me out there and let the bears eat me.

Walter - What if they don't eat you?

Zeus - Hmmm.. I hadn't thought about that!

It turns out that Zeus did not get his wish and the bears did not get a free meal, however, Zeus still resides in his beloved Elizabethtown, NM right above his former residence.

If you did not have the pleasure of meeting this hard drinking, hard living nemesis of the local lion and bear population during his mortal existence, don't worry, you can still visit him in the Elizabeth Town cemetery, take your time, I doubt he's going anywhere anytime soon.
