Wow…what a view! When in Red River with an off-road vehicle, The Old Red River Pass is a must. It’s the original road/pass to access RR from Eagles Nest. It starts just outside of town on NM Hwy 578 a few miles on your left. The trail winds up several switchbacks, giving you great views of town until you get to the top of the pass. From the top you can either go back down (easiest route) or descend via one of two 4X4 only trails to either Bobcat Pass/Enchanted Forest or 4th July Canyon. When in RR don’t miss this trail for great scenery and fun!
